In response to evolving business needs, ABN AMRO announced today that it will make its award-winning suite of global electronic transaction banking services, Access Online and MaxTrad, available to clients in Malaysia.


Already firmly positioned as a preferred cash management provider globally, ABN AMRO’s latest offering in Malaysia will enable businesses here to centralise control over their payment processes, manage working capital more efficiently and better leverage supply chains. 


ABN AMRO’s electronic banking services provide cash, trade and card products for corporations, financial institutions, consumers and private clients. These systems provide access and tools for customers to quickly access their cash flows, initiate payment or trade finance transactions and receive comprehensive balance reporting. In addition, the systems can also be used to manage a full range of trade transactions and supply chain solutions.

Among these solutions are ABN AMRO’s award-winning advanced electronic banking service products - Access Online and MaxTrad. Access Online is widely used in over 40 countries worldwide including those in Europe, North America and Asia. MaxTrad is ABN AMRO’s award-winning trade portal for importers and exporters, which provides tools for conducting and managing trade business.


Having already built a successful track record in Commercial Banking in Malaysia, ABN AMRO embarked on an aggressive expansion into Consumer Banking earlier this year, launching Van Gogh Preferred Banking (VGPB) to capitalise on the fast growing wealth management segment. Targeted at affluent customers, VGPB is especially designed to meet clients’ need for individual recognition and desire for a greater range of products and services, beyond simple banking transactions.

In addition, ABN AMRO is rolling out specific products and tools which cater to the growing needs of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). ABN AMRO's Business MaxAccount is the first cash management product, available in Malaysia, to offer sweep facilities which offers daily interest on balances. Initially marketed to ABN AMRO’s VGPB customers, the product is now extended to SMEs to assist them in obtaining additional yield without sacrificing cash flow liquidity.

ABN AMRO also opened an Islamic Banking window in Malaysia earlier this year to expand its Shariah-compliant products in the local market. To meet the strong growing demand for wealth management and financial services in Malaysia, ABN AMRO is opening VGPB branches in two additional locations – in Johor Bahru and Sitiawan.
